ALCOHOL SERVICE DISCLAIMER &
DRY HIRE BARTENDING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
State of Maine
The Garnished Glass operates as a dry hire mobile bartending service in compliance with Title 28‑A of the Maine Revised Statutes and regulations enforced by the Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations (BABLO).
Dry Hire Alcohol Policy
The Garnished Glass does not sell, purchase, transport, furnish, or supply alcoholic beverages. All alcoholic beverages served at an event are purchased, owned, and provided solely by the client or event host.
By engaging the services of The Garnished Glass, the client acknowledges that they are the legal provider (“social host”) of alcohol at the event and assume full responsibility for compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, and municipal laws governing alcohol possession, service, and consumption.
Legal Drinking Age & Responsible Service
Alcohol will only be served to individuals 21 years of age or older, as required by Maine law. Bartenders may request valid, government‑issued photo identification from any guest of questionable age and will refuse service in the absence of acceptable identification.
Bartenders reserve the right to refuse service to any individual and to discontinue alcohol service at any time if a guest appears visibly intoxicated or if continued service would violate the law or compromise safety. All service decisions are final and non‑negotiable.
Liquor Liability & Client Responsibility
Pursuant to the Maine Liquor Liability Act (28‑A M.R.S., Chapter 100), liability for alcohol‑related incidents may extend to the person or entity legally providing alcohol. Because alcohol is client‑supplied, the client assumes full legal and financial responsibility for alcohol consumption at the event.
The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Garnished Glass, its owners, employees, contractors, and representatives from any claims, damages, injuries, losses, costs, or legal actions arising from alcohol consumption, guest conduct, or violations of alcohol laws or venue policies.
Prohibited Practices
In accordance with Maine law, bartenders will not participate in or permit:
-
Drinking games, contests, or activities intended to encourage rapid or excessive consumption
-
Service practices that violate Maine alcohol regulations or venue rules
Non‑Alcoholic Services
The Garnished Glass may provide non‑alcoholic beverage services, including alcohol‑free drinks and mocktail offerings, either as a standalone service or in conjunction with dry hire bartending services. The provision of non‑alcoholic beverages does not alter or reduce the client’s responsibility for any alcoholic beverages brought onto the premises.
Insurance, Permits & Venue Compliance
The client is responsible for determining and obtaining any required event permits, venue approvals, or host liquor liability insurance and for ensuring that alcohol service is permitted at the event location. Proof of insurance or permits may be requested prior to service.
Unauthorized Alcohol & Venue Rules
Service is subject to venue regulations. Guests found bringing unauthorized alcohol may be refused service or required to remove alcohol from the premises. The Garnished Glass assumes no responsibility for alcohol not presented through the designated bar service area.
Right to Refuse or Terminate Service
The Garnished Glass reserves the right to refuse or terminate services without refund if illegal, unsafe, or disruptive behavior occurs; if alcohol laws are violated; or if staff safety is compromised.
Acknowledgment
By booking services with The Garnished Glass, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to these Dry Hire Bartending Terms and Conditions and affirm compliance with all applicable Maine state laws and venue requirements.
